The most accurate aftercare advice is given by the artist who applies your tattoo. There are many different tattoo methods, it is important to follow your artists’ aftercare instructions to keep your new tattoo looking great
FIRST 3 DAYS
The plaster over your tattoo should stay on for 3 DAYS. Note the day you got your tattoo done and remove it on the evening of the following 3rd day as described below.
This plaster does not prevent your skin from breathing and is waterproof. If the plaster is not damaged during these 3 days you can take a shower. Otherwise please cover your tattoo with a plastic wrap before taking a shower.
IMPORTANT: Some ink may be driven out of your body and stay between plaster and your body which causes a distorted appearance. This is normal, please do not be alarmed.
REMOVING THE PLASTER (3RD DAY)
First, soap your hands thoroughly. If someone is helping you, make sure that the person follows the same instructions.
Put drinking water and anti-bacterial liquid soap in a plastic bottle and shake it.
Gently wash one corner of the plaster with the water you have prepared and remove the plaster slowly. Then, pat dry with a paper towel. Do not rub.
During the first week post-tattoo, it is important to avoid places such as the pool, sea, sauna, and public bath for the risk of infection.
FOLLOWING 3 WEEKS
After removing the plaster, moisten your tattoo with tattoo balm 3 times a day for the following 3 weeks.
You can buy tattoo balm at Beyazitink.
Coconut oil can also be used to moisten your tattoo. DO NOT use Vaseline or any chemical moisturizer, ointment or, medication – this can harm your tattoo.
During this period, when your tattoo starts to crust as thin and white scales, definitely do not break off these crusts, do not scratch your tattoo, and do not wipe it with a hard towel.
HEALING PERIOD
After 1 month, your new tattoo will be completely healed. As your skin heals over the tattoo, the brightness of the first day will become a little more toned down. To retain its color, never expose your tattoo to direct sun. Never shave any of hair on your tattoo before it is completely healed.
IMPORTANT: Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect your tattoo.
PLEASE WARN YOUR BEAUTICIAN NOT TO SHOOT ON YOUR TATTOO DURING LASER EPILATION PRECEDURE.
If you encounter an extreme situation such as excessive redness, unbearable itching, inflammation at any stage after getting your tattoo done, contact your tattoo artist immediately and get their advice.
